The IRC Crest

The IRC Crest

IRC Seal

The IRC crest was designed by the IRC Student Council in the Fall of 2014. It contains four elements that represent the IRC houses, the IRC motto, and IRC history:

The Wheat represents Munford, which is the primary location for meals
The Bear represents Gwathmey, which is the primary location for residents of all years and genders live together
The Owl represents Yen, which is the primary location for the wise IRC Upperclassmen
The Laurels represent Hoxton, which is the primary location for peace and tranquility

The four elements also epitomize the four words of IRC's Latin motto, "cibo, comitate, pace, discendo."
