Hello everyone! Welcome to the International Residential College (or IRC, for short) — a place I'm grateful to call home.

I'm Josie, a 5'0" fourth-year from Centreville, Virginia. I'm studying global public health/biology and will be your senior resident advisor this year. When I'm not doing something academic, you can find me playing pickleball at the Snyder courts, attempting local trivia nights, or attending any/all UVA sports and music events.

I came to the IRC as a second-year looking to meet people from abroad, and my expectations were far exceeded. My surrounding hallmates were from China, Ethiopia, Germany, Egypt, Malaysia, New Zealand, and more. Nearly every week, there was a celebration for a different culture: Diwali, Lunar New Year, Oktoberfest, Soul food, the list goes on. When there wasn't an official event, I'd find people of all backgrounds gathered around our Potlatch: a table constantly filled with food and laughter. Coming into my final year at the IRC, I can't wait to see everyone embracing these traditions one last time.
