Resident Fellow
Bio
I’m Ray Qu, a PhD candidate in anthropology. I grew up as an apple farmer’s child in a small village in North China’s Shandong Province. I have just finished a year of field research in a local community in North China. My research interests include anthropology of religion, medical anthropology, hope, state, health and well-being, spiritual healing, medical pluralism, care, uncertainty and precarity, and personhood. As an international student myself, I am excited to join the welcoming, diverse, and participatory IRC community as a Residential Fellow. In my free time, I love playing soccer, lifting weights, watching variety shows, and diving into science fiction and fantasy books. I look forward to speaking with you and getting to know you at various events and programs!
